Active Network TAPs, Record IP Extension and Trunks without SPAN
Designed for Active Network TAPs, 1UL-IP/T series products are offered in 8, 16 and 24 port versions, suitable for small offices and branch offices. The Active Network TAPs output IP data of targeted IP extension or targeted IP trunk to NIC of 1UL-IP/T series.

There are two common methods to extract traffic directly from the network: TAPs and SPANs. A network TAP is a hardware component that connects into the cabling to copy packets for call recording purposes. A SPAN is a software function of a switch or router that duplicates traffic from incoming or outgoing ports and forwards the copied traffic to a special SPAN (or sometimes called mirror) port. Here are some minuses of SPAN.
● SPAN ports are easily oversubscribed and have the lowest priority when it comes to forwarding,                 which results in dropped packets
● The SPAN application is processor-intensive and can have a negative performance impact on the                switch itself, possibly affecting network traffic
● Because SPAN traffic is easily reconfigured, SPAN output can change from day to day, resulting in              the inconsistent.

Advanced Features of 1UL-IP/T vs 1UL-IP/T(NR)
● VLAN Filtering          ● Power Over Ethernet (PoE) Relay          ● Network Relay when Power Failure
